Field Trip Guide

We’re looking for Guides for Arcadia’s spring Field Trip program. Guides will be primarily responsible for elementary age groups and leading them through a series of educational stations.

 

Through Arcadia’s Field Trip program, we seek to connect children to where their food comes from, the science behind what makes healthy soil, what makes up a plant, and much more! Our goal is to play an integral part in bridging the gap between local food systems and our surrounding elementary schools.

 

Start date is March 28th, 2024 and end date is May 31st, 2024. Part-time (Thursdays and Fridays), seasonal for approximately 8 weeks. 

Field Trip Lead

If you are interested in connecting students to nutrition with a hands-on experience and understanding of where their food comes from, how they can grow it, and so much more, keep reading!

We are seeking a Field Trip Lead that will supervise our Field Trip Guides and volunteers during Field Trip hours and ensure that the program is supported and appropriately conducted. The Field Trip Lead will communicate programmatic needs to their supervisor and be the main point of contact for Field Trip attendees during Field Trip days.

Start date is March 28th, 2024 and end date is May 31st, 2024.

Farm Camp Manager

Arcadia seeks a Manager for our Summer Farm Camp. The Manager will be primarily responsible for managing the conduction of the Farm Camp program and supervising a small team of Farm Camp Counselors during five, one-week sessions. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about working with kids and who enjoys being outdoors in a farm setting.

Start date is May 13 and end date is August 2 , 2024. Full time, seasonal for 11 weeks.

Farm Camp Counselor

We’re looking for Counselors for Arcadia’s summer Farm Camp. Counselors will be primarily responsible for an age-specific group of children during five one-week sessions. At Arcadia Farm Camp, we seek to connect children to where their food comes from through hands-on farming, cooking, and eating experiences. Campers will develop an understanding of the origins of food, seasonality, sustainable agriculture, land conservation, and culinary arts. Our goal is to help create the next generation of sustainable farmers, chefs, and eaters.

Start date is June 10, 2024 and end date is July 30, 2024

Veteran Farm Fellowship

As a Volunteer Field Trip Guide you will be leading groups of 10-15 students grades K-5 through four stations at our Hilltop site in Alexandria, Virginia

 

Dates: Thursdays and Fridays from April 11th-May 31st
