Mobile Market School Education Program

The Arcadia Mobile Market is Coming to a Schoolyard Near You!

Arcadia’s Mobile Market is a 28-foot long school bus that doubles as a farmers’ market on wheels.  It’s an exciting new tool to teach DC students about farming, farmers markets, and the local food system. The Mobile Market is designed to get kids involved in hands-on activities related to farming, farmers’ markets, and nutrition while getting them excited about eating local food! Arcadia will be visiting a series of schools on Tuesdays this fall.

What the Mobile Market Provides:

  • Hands-on activities related to plant growth
  • Interactive farmers market activities for students
  • Samples of local food
  • Engaging cooking demonstrations featuring local DC chefs
  • Recipe ideas emphasizing local and seasonal foods
  • Local Food curriculum tie-in ideas for teachers to get kids engaged
