Farm Education Opportunities: Join Arcadia's Farm Education Programs and help us teach children about food, farming, and the natural world around them!

Farm Camp Manager:
Arcadia seeks a Manager for our Summer Farm Camp. The Manager will be primarily responsible for managing the conduction of the Farm Camp program and supervising a small team of Farm Camp Counselors during five, one-week sessions at our working farm on the grounds of Woodlawn, a National Trust Historic Site, in Alexandria, VA.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about working with kids and who enjoys being outdoors in a farm setting.  We are focused on our Farm Campers, and look for a strong background in working with children and staff in a camp setting. Camp counselor or camp management experience is preferred. Farming or gardening experience is preferred, but not required. This is a full time, seasonal position, with varying hours. Ideally the Camp Manager would start roughly around the end of May and will continue until August 16, 2019.

Farm Camp Counselor:
Arcadia seeks fun, caring, and passionate Camp Counselors for its 9th season of Farm Camp!
Counselors will be primarily responsible for an age-specific group of children during five one-week sessions at our working farm on the grounds of Woodlawn, a National Trust Historic Site, in Alexandria, VA. This is a full time, seasonal position. Must be available between July 1, 2019-August 14, 2019.

Field Trip Associate:
Arcadia’s Farm Education Program is hiring two, part time, seasonal Field Trip Associates for our robust Farm to School Field Trip program. This position will operate for roughly 9 weeks, 2-3 days a week, from April 1st-June 7th. Field Trip Associates are ambassadors of the Farm Ed. program, manage the setup and breakdown of each field trip, support volunteer Farm Educators, and (most of all) teach elementary-age students about the tenants of sustainable agriculture. Field Trip Associates report to the Farm Education Director. Field trips run Weds-Friday during the season, and run from 9-2PM or 9:30-2:30PM.

This seasonal role may lead to more opportunities and different responsibilities in later seasons as we grow our Farm Education Program. Click here for the job description.
